Airbrake Certification Renewal

Your airbrake certification is valid until the end of your current driver's license. To maintain your certification and continue operating commercial vehicles, you'll need to renew your certification before it expires.

Important Update from MTO

As of September 1, 2023, the Ministry of Transportation has implemented new requirements for air brake endorsement renewals:

1

Complete Online Learning Module

All air brake endorsement holders must complete the air brake learning module online before going to a DriveTest Centre to renew. The air brake knowledge test is no longer required or available for renewals.

2

Access the Learning Module

You can complete the air brake learning module either through your DCP location or online at home/other location of your choice. Visit mto bluedrop

3

Complete Required Steps

Have your driver's licence ready to start the learning module. After completion, download or print your "Certificate of Completion."

4

Visit DriveTest Centre

Bring your digital or printed "Certificate of Completion" and driver's licence to a DriveTest centre or your Driver Certification Program organization.

Additional Requirements

If you hold a commercial class (A, B, C, D, E or F) driver's licence, you will need to complete the vision and commercial class knowledge test in person at a DriveTest Centre or through your Driver Certification Program organization.
